Third Flatiron Route Options
East Face (5.4, 7 pitches): This is the classic route to the summit of the Third Flatiron. Pitch after pitch of generous holds on an endless sea of rock, tilted just less than vertical, offer passage to the small summit. The climbing is never difficult, but always engaging and enjoyable, which makes this route possibly the best beginner climb on the planet. Three intimidating rappels off the summit deposit us back on the ground.
Friday’s Folly (5.7, 1 pitch): Often climbed as a bonus pitch after completing the rappels off the main summit, Friday’s Folly offers vertical, exhilarating climbing with large holds for a full pitch up the backside of the Third Flatiron.
Saturday’s Folly (5.8, 1 pitch): Another bonus pitch after rappelling from the main summit after climbing the East Face, Saturday’s Folly is a technical crack and face climb that will make you think, and it’s a great way to cap off a big day on the Third Flatiron.
